Awkward Moments You Missed From Donald Trump's UK State Visit
Donald Trump’s second state visit to the UK had it all: pomp, pageantry… and plenty of awkward moments.
From breaking royal etiquette with an over-eager handshake to Melania being shown really tiny books… and really big books!, the trip was anything but ordinary. At Windsor Castle, Trump was accused once again of walking ahead of King Charles III during the troop inspection. Later, he tried on a “diplomatic” face in front of the British press — casually mentioning World War III.
The lavish state banquet brought its own drama. Royal officials worked to keep Trump and Rupert Murdoch apart, after Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal over an Epstein story.
Despite the “grandest of welcomes,” 5,000 protesters gathered in central London, undercutting the spectacle just 25 miles away. And while bad weather cancelled the planned US–UK flypast, the Red Arrows still delivered their display.
Watch all the highlights from Donald Trump’s unprecedented second UK state visit — the only American president ever invited back for a sequel.
